4 perfect days in New York

The city of cities.

Even though we are not fans of American culture & lifestyle, we always had a soft spot for New York city, having been brought up with movies like Home Alone, Friends & a plethora of others. I guess it's been embedded in our subconsciousness that the perfect house is a NYC brownstone townhouse. Everything here is just so different than what you'd expect of the States. And this is said in the best sense of the word possible.

Even though it's known to be overrun by tourists, it's still a must to see the 135 year old structure. It's such a testament to the folks that had such grand visions back then. Best to go as early as possible, or go towards the Brooklyn half of the bridge - it's less crowded.

If Brooklyn bridge is done early, enroute back to the city, you can drop by and take a moment at the 9/11 memorial site. The scale of it all makes you ponder.

Moving down to lower Manhattan

A bite & more.

Moving down to lower Manhattan, you face a huge choice of eateries. From contemporary to time-frozen outlets like Lombardi's, that has remained primarily the same from 1905 since it opened it's doors. It is considered the first pizzeria in USA. The place is exceptionally good. If interested in a slightly quirkier concept - drop by Beauty & Essex.

Best pictures from Empire State Building

We know that most of you would be saying 'ah but that means queueing for half a day', and depending on the day you'd probably be right, but if you come early and if the weather is nice - you'll be rewarded tenfold. The view is something else.

What to do in Central Park park on a beautiful day

Once in Central Park (weather permitting) don't miss out on a boat ride. They cost next to nothing and are a great way to see the park from a slightly different angle. Turtle encounters guaranteed!

Grand Central - just because it truly is Grand. If you're there during the first half of the day - Pershing Corner is a great breakfast place with a very charming athmosphere.

Even though MoMA is of course not for everybody, if you enjoy fine art at least a bit - you'll love it here, as it encompasses a wide array of masterpieces and holds a collection of some of the best artists of the modern times.

Times Square should at all times be left for last. It's really not something you'll remember the Big Apple for, but worth the visit nonetheless.
